I'm writing this 3 hours after the final whistle. I still feel like we lost.

The game was poor all round anyway, City were 2 up at half time and I could not believe what garbage was served up. But I know that we will not waltz our way out of this division and I will settle for goals and points rather than being the most attractive team in the league. Nugent scored after 4 mins, Brayson after 43 mins.

City let the fans down badly in the second half, Southend were the fluid side and fully deserved their two goals, City gifted the ball so many times it was embarrassing. At the end Andy Legg could have stole the points back for City when he crashed a shot against the underside of the bar.

On a positive note we are still unbeaten and we moved up two places to 7th. After the Blackpool game I was critical that we could not hold onto a single goal lead, today showed we cannot hold onto a two goal lead either.

The half time team talk today must have been missed by the players or else the management did not say anything, because City were pants in the second half and Southend, who must have had a right rollicking at half time, made the game worth watching.
