Wrexham have helped Cardiff's survival cause by beating Scunthorpe at the Racecourse tonight. While it looks certain to ensure the Robins survival in Div 2 it means that Scunthorpe remain in the relegation zone and have played one game more than Cardiff. Bottom club Chesterfield lost tonight and I would think can wave goodbye to Div 2. We have a game in hand on three of the four teams below us. (The game in hand is away at Gillingham), but basically as long as we do no worse than the teams below us we can stay up. The Bluebirds have an unenviable week coming up. Burnley (minus Ian Wright) at home on Saturday, a trip to Gillingham on Tuesday to play our game in hand and then a trip to current leaders Preston on Saturday week. The dream return of Kurt Nogan to Deepdale to score a hattrick maybe (well a 90th minute winner will do actually).

I've tried to be upbeat, I've not once said we were down already. I wont beleive that until its mathmatically impossible anyway. We have it all to play for starting this Saturday. With Burnley expected to bring upto 2,000 fans it will be a magical atmosphere at Ninian Park. Your support in helping the Bluebirds stay in Division 2 is more important than ever.
