I was convinced we would win today. Convinced we would be in pole position for survival. After the defeat today for City and the win for Blackpool and point for Oxford its now very tight at the bottom.
As you can see from the table its quite simple. One team from Oxford, City, Blackpool and Scunthorpe will survive. Next weekend is fascinating. Scunthorpe travel to Oxford. In reality we should be willing Scunthorpe to win. That would put them and Oxford on 42 points. With goal difference in our favour a point from either Stoke away or Gillingahm away would take us above both of them. Dark horses are Blackpool. They could have been relegated today if results had gone in a certain fashion. As it is they have the easiest run in. Next weekend they face Oldham at Boundary Park. Chesterfield and City have won there recently so dont back against Blackpool. For their final game they face already relegated Chesterfield at Bloomfield Rd. A potential home banker which could see the Tangerines survive if other results go their way. City's defeat today has been a real kick in the teeth, win all our remaining games and we stay up but after seeing the Bluebirds fail to beat a static Bury side I'd not be betting my shirt just yet. |
