Cardiff City welcome Rhys Weston to Ninian Park tonight as the former Gunner makes
his debut after a £300,000 move from Highbury. Weston will replace Andy Legg in the
middle of the City defence. That is expected to be the only change to Sundays line up with
Kevin Nugent and Jeff Eckhardt not expected to return from injury. City are buzzing at the moment. The form at Ninian park in the last games has been awesome. 2 - 0, 2 - 0, 4 - 0 and 5 - 1 being the results in City's favour. With all due respect to Lincoln nothing less than a win can be considered. The Imps are 5th from the bottom of Division 3 and are in turmoil. Mark Morris, author of Imps Online, told me, "Our away record is... well what record, I can't remember when we won away from home, last season sometime. I won't wish you luck as I'm sure you'll win." Lincoln lost their chairman last week, John Reames resigned and the club is losing over £10,000 a week. Their only good fortune was a comfortable win over non league Bracknell in the cup at the wekend. Cardiff welcome Phil Stant, the Lincoln manager, back to Ninian Park. "Stantona" was the potent striker that fired City to promotion in 1993. He will be warmly received but the love will soon be lost for 90 minutes as City aim to send the Imps home with nothing. City also have a score to settle with Lincoln as the Imps won 1 - 0 at Ninian Park on their last visit in 1998. Only 2,896 fans turned up that day. City would like at least 3 times the amount tonight. City will be hoping for a big crowd tonight to support the team, things are going right on and off the pitch and now the fans must repay the committment put in by Sam Hammam. Kick off is at 7:45pm. Be there. Visit the excellent Imps Online website for their view on the game. |
