Bluebirds 2000, the club set up by Julian Jenkins and Steve Day to initially assist in the Clive Sullivan takeover of Cardiff City have issued a press release to explain the aims of the club and how fans can still purchase shares in Cardiff City.

This release coincides with the news that the signing of Kurt Nogan from Preston this mornign will be funded with Bluebirds 2000 money. Its a great advert for fan power and hats off to all concerned. Details on how to have your part of Cardiff City football club are included in the following statement.

"Bluebirds 2000 was initially set up to allow fans to purchase shares in Cardiff City Football Club, the immediate aims where to do the following.

1 Help in the bid for Clive Sullivans investment.

2 To allow fans to invest within the club.

3 To achieve an investment of £300.000.

After the Clive Sullivan deal fell through we had to redefine the aims of Bluebirds 2000. We decided that due to the collapse we would increase the investment levels to £500.000. By doing this we could hopefully help with general running costs and team strengthening.

To date we have raised c£100.000 and have had several large investors show a keen interest towards our campaign. We are well on our way to achieving our aims and have several plans to increase the investment levels to our target.

Julian Jenkins, spokesman & co founder of Bluebirds 2000 said "As a fan for 20 years Steve Day and I decided that we can't just sit back and wait for other potential investors to come in we wanted to do something ourselves. The fans of Cardiff have shown that by acting together it is possible to make a difference".

"But of course the long-term success of Bluebirds 2000 depends upon all sections of the community getting behind it. Then everybody involved with Cardiff City - a club with a proud history and tradition- will be able to move forward together and at a far greater pace".

" We're now in a situation where Cardiff supporters can do something tangible for the club. Looking at the maths shows what we can do. If 5000 supporters give £100 each we would hit our target of £500.000. The important thing now is that supporters have the chance to make a real difference as Bluebirds 2000 is a perfect vehicle to purchase shares in there club".

Steve Day Co founder of Bluebirds 2000 said "Samesh Kumar before the beginning of the season blocked a private share issue for the fans to the annoyance of thousands of loyal supporters who wanted to invest & own a small part of there Club. Bluebirds 2000 has been set up to give all supporters to join together and unite and personally own shares in Cardiff City Football Club."

" We all dream of a Jack Walker taking over the club & putting us where we belong in the premiership, but we could be dreaming for years, the only way forward is for all supporters to unite and become shareholders- fan power is the biggest power. We as supporters now have the chance to show we are one of the best supported clubs in the country."

Steven Borley Cardiff City Chairman said "The fans have made a magnificent statement in support of their club. I have always advocated a wide shareholder base and it is important that the fans have the opportunity to own part of their club. I commend the work put in by Steve Day and Julian Jenkins in forming the club and it should not be long before we see the benefits of their work."

Andy Legg said "I think Bluebirds 2000 campaign set up by Steve Day and Julian Jenkins is a fantastic idea and wish them well."

Mark Bonner said " Cardiff City Supporters are fantastic & through Bluebirds 2000 it is a ideal opportunity to own part of there club."

John Williams Ex player Said " I loved my time at Cardiff City & wished It had lasted longer but that is football. The Highlight of my time there was the supporters they were always amazing. I hope they get behind this and wish Steve Day & Julian Jenkins all the best with the campaign I will also be a shareholder of the club as I am a big fan".

Tony Jeffrey's Travel & Press Officer Supporters Club Said " This is a wonderful thing we urge as many fans and members to purchase shares as possible. What better present to give to your son or daughter for there Birthday or Christening. We also would like Russell Goodway to show the people of Cardiff his commitment to us and purchase shares within the club".

Mark Ainsbury Chairman of the 1927 club Said "The 1927 club, the largest Cardiff City Supporters Club branch outside Cardiff, fully supports the aims of Bluebirds 2000, both in helping to ensure the successful future of Cardiff City Football Club. Cardiff City's greatest asset is its supporters and B2k will enable for the first time the ordinary supporter to acquire shares in the Club and to have a real influence in its running. This approach has been a success at clubs like Bournmouth, which have a fraction of the potential support that Cardiff has".

"As well as bringing much needed investment into Cardiff City, the tremendous response which Bk2 has already generated demonstrates to potential large investors the level of support which our club enjoys. The 1927 Club sees B2k therefore as an important step towards Cardiff City realising its potential as one of the country's best supported football clubs and wishes it well in achieving its aims".

Michael Morris' Cardiff City website said " Bluebirds 2000 has shown that fans can have a say at the highest levels of a football club. Well done to the organisers for raising the money & awareness also giving the supporters a chance to own part of their club".
