| Mon 21st Feb 2000 - Ian Feuer moves to Upton Park | |
| February Headlines |
Cardiff have left themselves open to a minor goalkeeping crisis.
Second choice Ian Feuer has signed for West Ham Utd as cover for the injured Shaka Hislop
until the end of the season. He will challenge Craig Forrest for the position between the
sticks at Upton Park. Cardiff have loaned out Seamus Kelly to Merthyr. He cannot return to
Ninian Park until after next weekends action. We will therefore put inexperienced Pat
Jennings Jr on the bench for our next two matches.I'm amazed that Feuer has not been given a chance. If Harry Redknapp is happy to play him in the Premiership I think he should have been playing here. Jon Hallworths dip in form has been well documented and while there has been a slight improvement lately the doubts on his ability to deal with crosses, his reluctance to leave his line and his poor communications with the centre backs are still there. I think Feuer is a loss to Cardiff City. Kelly therefore is scheduled to return from Merthyr next week and will be reinstated as No. 2. Other loan players making the news. Rob Earnshaw has arrived back from Greenock Morton and is immediately available for tomorrow night. Rob Scored twice in 4 games for Greenock and has gained cult status amongst the Scottish fans. Craig Middleton scored again for Plymouth on the weekend and it appears Billy Ayre will recall him to the squad when his month at Home Park is up next week. The other three players out on loan Chris Roberts and Dai Thomas at Drogheda and Jamie Hughes at Cwmbran will continue with their loan spells. |
