jordan.jpg (3501 bytes)Alan Cork has made his first signing as City boss. Promising Scottish U21 intnl Andrew Jordan has controversially left Bristol City and joined City for a nominal fee. Andrew has a famous dad. Joe Jordan will be ill remembered for his "hand of god" goal against Wales at Anfield in the 80's when Scotland stopped Wales from qualifying for the World Cup finals.

Young Andrew is 20 and his departure has shocked City boss Danny Wilson. Wilson told the Bristol City Official Website today "There is a clause in Andrew's contract entitling him to a free transfer unless he makes a certain number of first team appearances over a set period," said Wilson.

"He wouldn't have signed it had we not agreed to the clause. I can't make any guarantees and with the time scale involved it's a case of getting a nominal fee now or nothing at all.

"I'm sorry Andrew wants to leave because he is a young player with the scope to improve. But we are relatively well off for centre-backs and I can understand why he felt opportunities might be limited."

Jordan, d.o.b. 14/12/79, is 6' 2, his is a solid player weighing 13st 2. He has made 12 first team appearances for the Robins with one goal scored against Notts Forest at the City Ground in the Worthington Cup last season.

Jordan is expected to be available for the game against Darlington at Ninian Park next Tuesday.
