Still the battle continues, the only one relegation issue that could be settled this weekend is the departure of Chesterfield from Division 2.
Chesterfield are at home to Wrexham. With 50 points in the bag Wrexham are safe, Chesterfield will hope to use Wrexhams comfort to pull off a second win in a row that would still give them hope. I predict a draw. Depending on other results a draw could be the end for Chesterfield but surley its better to put them out of their misery. Blackpool still have thoughts of survival but their current form is dire. They face a tricky away game at Bury and the best I can see them doing is to get a draw. Blackpool FC will still be thinking they can survive but I dont think so. I still predict they will go down. Cardiff City - our beloved team. No matter what the outcome at Oldham we will still be in the battle to survive but the only option has to be a win. The setback last Saturday at Ninian Park was very difficult to swallow. Capitulation again this weekend will probably be enough to wrench the faith out of the most optimist of supporters. Victory and good luck elsewhere could see City out of the bottom four and still with a game in hand. Forget chocolate eggs this weekend I want my present in points and places climbed. Scunthorpe on a high after their victory at Blackpool last week will surely lose tomorrow. The go to Preston who are within inches of promotion. North End failed to beat City two weeks ago but I dont think they'll fail tomorrow. Nice and easy to predict. A home win for Preston. Oxford are the team to catch. They sit in the safe zone for the time being. It could be said that they have the easier of the games on Saturday. A home tie against Brenford who have failed to win for weeks. Brentford scored against Millwall last week in a 1 - 3 reverse. That was the first goal they scored in over 10 hours of football. Oxford are the team to catch. I'm sure we will finish above Scunthorpe and Blackpool. City have a game in hand on Oxford. A defeat for Oxford and a win for City would see Cardiff favourites to stay up. Its that close. I think Cambridge have done enough now. They only need to pick up one more win for guaranteed survival. That will come I'm sure. |
