There have been several links in the press today between Cardiff City and Steve Coppell. Local bookies are offering short odds on Coppell becoming next City manager.

It would all appear to be papertalk. They claim sources close to the club are alledging Coppell could even have been in talks at Ninian Park.

But the only words coming direct from Ninian Park are that Alan Cork is in charge of team selection and is fully responsible. He will be getting an assistant and backing from Sam Hammam to bring in new players.

Joe Kinnear, another name linked with a possible move to City has taken up a consulancy role at Oxford Utd.

So for now Corky is the boss and will continue to be so unless the Club advise differently.
