Sam Hammam has said he is losing patience with Cardiff City. Hammam spoke with CCSC chairman Tony Jeffries from New York last night. Hammam is amazed that upto 10 ammendments (without his prior knowledge) have been added to the heads of terms agreement by City directors. It is thought that Steve Borley is also unaware of these changes as he is in Florida. Sam is ready and waiting to drop £3.1m into Cardiff City, the deal was agreed less then two weeks ago and now the City board are inserting demands. Hammam wants the club now, on the terms agreed. He wants to be in control in August and not made to hang on. Hammam wants to se the club competing with the likes of Man Utd and Newcastle, not Darlington and Carlisle. Hammam has claimed that upto 18 other clubs are inviting him to invest in them. What are the board playing at? Cardiff City say they are trying to protect the heritage of the club, they want written assurances thet Hammam will not change the identity of the club. They claim they are reacting to the wishes of the fans who do not want to see City changed to Celts and blue changed to green. Sam Hammam claims he will only do what the fans want him to do, he says that if they want the name to stay Cardiff City it will stay Cardiff City. When asked about moving from Ninian Park (it was suggested Bridgend earlier in the week), he said the club may move, but not from Cardiff. The reaction immediately from the fans on the messageboard has been immense. There is no doubt who's side they are on, and its not the City directors. Sam Hammam must come to Cardiff City. Any rational person would realise that Sams off the wall comments like name change etc, would have to be agreed with fans permission first, no point in upsetting your customer is there. Already a protest is being planned for this Saturday at Ninian Park. The local media will cover the event. Fans who want to be involved are asked to meet at the Lansdowne pub and march to Ninian Park. It will set off at 3pm. I am as astonished as the 1,000's of supporters will be that the board are willing to let the deal fail. Why? Hammam has made his case clear. He will not change the name of the club if the fans do not want it changed. Hammam will listen and react to supporters, not just ignore them. Mr Isaac, Mr Guy, you are holding the future of Cardiff City in your hands. You claim to want whats best for the supporters. Then let it go. Let Sam Hammam come into Cardiff City Football Club. He brings with him £3.1m and a future. Thats what the fans want. Mr Isaac, you say in the Echo today you are doing your utmost to cooperate. Stop placing proviso's into the deal and let Sam come in. Then you will be a hero. You will be part of a board that will have helped the rebirth of Cardiff City. If your actions mean the dream is lost then you will find the very fans you think you are trying to represent will be gone. Forever. |
