Plymouth     12/1
Hull             12/1
Hartlepool    12/1
Scunthorpe 12/1
Kidd            14/1
Orient          16/1
Chesterfield 16/1
Cheltenham 16/1
Barnet         16/1

Rest between 20/1 and Shrewsbury at 66/1.

This is in contrast to the report from a few weeks ago when local bookie Jack Brown received bets on City being relegated.

Report from TotalWales on 8/6/00.
BOOKMAKERS have been forced to slash the odds on Cardiff City being relegated because people want to wager thousands of pounds on the club dropping out of the Football League, writes Karl Woodward.

“It’s an extraordinary situation,” said Karl Williams, spokesman for Welsh bookmakers Jack Brown.

“Within the space of 24 hours, one man tried to place £1,000 at 66-1 on City going down and another wanted to put down £3,000 at the same odds

“On the advice of experts in the Midlands, we have reduced the odds to 25-l.

“Even on a horse considered to be a racing certainty, these would be high stakes.

“But when only one Third Division club is relegated and two people are so sure it is going to be City, we become nervous.”
