The Sam Hammam takeover of Cardiff City will be officially completed by next Friday (25th). An emergency board meeting last Wednesday ironed out the final stages and its all on course for a legal completion by next Friday. This means the game against Southend on bank holiday Monday, Aug 28th, will be the public handover of the football club to Sam Hammam. Sam is looking for several fans to act as signatories on his account to pay the £3.1m from his account to the club. One of the ideas that Sam has had is to shear a sheep and write the cheque out on its side. But I understand he's scrapped the idea as he would not be able to get the sheep through the payment window at the bank. So this Saturday welcome Sam and Bobby to Ninian Park as guests. Next time we come to the home of football it will be to celebrate Sam's takeover. With the takeover on the verge of completion little is known of the future as directors of the current board. Saturday will be the last match at Ninian before Sam comes in and starts to reshape the football club, give the current board a warm reception as they have kept the club afloat and brought in Sam Hammam. Give special thanks to Steve Borley who as promised when he took over as chairman has delivered the major investment we've needed. |
