If you thought that Sam's idea for a City fans trek up Mount Snowden was a way out idea try some of these. Sam wants to parade up the valleys on an elephant to attract support. He wants to go ahead with his idea to replace the £50 draw prize at half time of City's games to a sheep draw prize. The lucky winner will take the aforementioned animal home with them. Sam wants to have an aeroplane flying over S.Wales with a banner trailing behind promoting the football club and a hot air balloon. He's even thinking of building a duggout at the base of the Bob bank so he can sit pitchside to watch the games. Wild and wacky ideas? No. Sound publicity for Cardiff City. You bet your ass. Sam is a showman, but it goes deeper. Sam Hamman has probably spent more hours inputting into Cardiff City over the last three weeks than the rest of the directors put together. He is now living and breathing the football club. Sam stood up last week and said we'd be lucky to get 7,000 fans at the Blackpol game. 7,000 is the budgetted figure for the club. He said if we get more than that I'll spend the money on team strengthening but dont worry, we won't get that many. Its brilliant gamesmanship, if he had any doubt over the passion that we as City fans can generate he will see it on Saturday. Sam will get his 7,000. Its my guess he will get the odd 4 - 5,000 on top of that as well. The club have announced that the Bob bank and Family Stand will be at the lower rate for Saturdays game and consessions will apply up untill kick off time. The new bars / food areas should be open, the Grang End has been developed, hell theres even a rumour the old Bob bank toilets have been knocked down, (no news of an alternative though). All adds up to a masterstroke of PR and a near sell out at Ninian Park. |
