The latest twist in the Sam Hammam takeover has found its way to the front pages of the Echo today.

There apears to be a clause in the contracts that will preserve the name and identity of Cardiff City Football Club. This is no secret that Sam Hammam would like to make radical changes to CCFC by changing the name, the colours the nickname, the badge and the location.

It nows appears that a source has leaked details that Cardiff City directors are trying to keep the identity of the club with a clause in the contracts that will not allow Mr Hammam to change all these things.

The article gives out the idea that this could only be a moinor point to iron out but the headline of City deal in Jeopardy? will stoke up a lot of discussion amongst the fans.

It is suggested that Hammam may be looking to move the club away from Cardiff.

At the moment the above is newspaper talk and rumour. No one has confirmed or denied officially.

Hammam is in New York at the moment and City chairman Steve Borley is in Florida so neither were available for comment. Other directors said they are sticking to the confidentiality agreement but David Temme did say that they were preparing the heads of terms agreements and he knew of no changes.

The back pages of the Echo today confirm what most City fans have been thinking. When Sam Hammam completes the deal (assuming the above news is sorted) then he will bring Samesh Kumar back as Chairman, Tony Clemmo looks also to be offered an advisors role with Bobby Gould, as reported over the weekend, coming in as director of football.

This would fall into place after the public backing for Hammam from Kumar and the middle man role of Tony Clemmo.
