middleton_small.jpg (3365 bytes)Craig Middleton is due in Devon later today for talks with Exeter City. The City midfielder will discuss the possibility of a move to St James Park in the quest for regular first team football. Frank Burrows has allowed the player to make his own decision. He will not stand in his way if he thinks he can guarantee first team action. Its thought he will leave on a free transfer but with a sell on clause added.

Middleton has been more of a squad player this season but has been heavily involved in action over Christmas and early January. He was of course one of the Cardiff 3 that was sent off at Cambridge.

Middleton has been a good servant to City in the three years he has been here since his move from Coventry. He was City's highest scoring midfielder last season, one of his goals ironically was the winner against Exeter at Ninian Park.

Whatever happens I wish Craig good luck. Middleton maybe thinking his chances of first team action are limited with potential new signings coming in. There are reported to be upto four new players possibly coming to Ninian Park in the next week. Should any of those be defenders or midfielders then Craig maybe thinking his future lies elsewhere.

Dai Thomas has returned from a brief trial in Spain. No further news as to whether the trip was a success.

Chris Roberts as reported last week is with Drogheda in Ireland, he is on a months loan with former City boss Eddie May. Chris made his debut on the weekend and put in a fine performance in a 0 - 0 draw.

Its expected this week that Rob Earnshaw, Jamie Hughes and Seamus kelly will all go out on loan as well. More confirmed news as I get it.
