City fought back from 2 goals down at Carlisle to earn a point against a team they should have beaten.

Carlisle had lost 7 on the run, not scored for the last 4 games but managed to go 1 up against City inside the first 10 minutes. It was sloppy defending and City were punished. Carlisle scored again mid way through the first half, it was a good finish but questions will be asked about the time on the ball Josh Low allowed for the winger to cross and how Matt Brazier was allowed to leave his marker the space to fire in an unstoppable shot.

City were at sixes and sevens for most of the first half and I felt the game could have had a hat ful of goals because of the poor play, and the conditions wee were terrible. A swirling wind and heavy rain.

City came back though and Andy Legg powered in a wonderful header after a smart chip / cross from Rob Earnshaw.

City scored early in the second half when a perfect Andy Legg inswinger was flicked onto Nugent who bundled the ball in from close range.

City had settled down in the second half and had more shape but the game could have gone either way.

The weather worked against City and the many high balls they played were held up in the wind. Both teams went close but a point each was probably the fairest outcome.

City will need to discipline themselves better and look towards the next two matches both at home against Mansfield and Darlington next Saturday and Tuesday respectively. With only one win at home so far this season things must improve.
