What a day for rumours. I'll run through the possible stories that have been given an airing today. 1. Jason Fowler in talks with Cambridge. Source - Jason's agents brother, who is on the Swansea mailing list. Maybe some truth in this, it's obvious that Jason has been trying to get a deal elsewhere. When it seems that no one wants him he comes back to City and is about to sign a new contract. Until he puts pen to paper he could still be looking for a new club. Truth rating. **** / 5. (my opinion). 2. Paul Brayson not yet signed. Source - CCFC Net. Paul has allegedly been absent from training for the last couple of sessions and questions have been asked about whether he has actually signed. I thought he was interviewed after he had signed last week and the Official site confirmed it. Truth rating. * 3. Hammam deal close to failure. Source - CCFC Net. CCFC Net are claiming that the Hammam deal could be on the brink of failure after the current City board tried to place a clause in the contract. The clause was to stop Hammam making changes to the name / badge / colours of CCFC. The discontent between the parties has left the deal on a knife edge. Truth rating. no stars. 4. Nathan Blake to sign. Source - Sunday papers. Nathan to return to City in a 12 month loan deal. Truth rating. * I've saved the best til last. 5. Cardiff City linked to Minardi buy out. - Source. CCFC Net, South Wales Echo. A classic, The Echo went as far as simulating a formula 1 racing car in Cardiff City colours. The article in the Echo was wisely unsigned. I do believe that it even got a mention on ITV's Grand Prix programme on the TV on Sunday. Chinese whispers that went all the way to making the media, not one source was quoted, it was all speculation. Truth rating. No stars.
The truth ratings are my opinion as to the validity of the story. No stars means I think it's complete tosh upto 5 stars where I believe its a nigh on certainty. I'll try to do a rumours news item every couple of days, it may be interesting to look back if any of the rumours come to fruition and see if I made a complete prat of myself by either believing or not believing them. If you have any rumours you would like posted, either genuine or otherwise drop me a mail, if you wish to remain anonymous then I'll not quote you as the source. Please let me know how truthful you believe them to be. Maybe it will become a daily page. |
