Cardiff City news 15/05/00

Mon 14th May 2000 - Retained list.

Players out of contract.

Mike Ford. Released. Mike as we know has had to retire through injury.

Lee Phillips. Released. No contract has been offered and Lee leaves Cardiff City.

Jeff Eckhardt. Jeff is expected to leave Cardiff City. Jeff was offered a job at City but I understand he has turned it down.

Jon Hallworth. New contract offered. Hallworth could be staying.

Jason Fowler. New contract offered. Jason though is expected to leave.

Danny Hill. New contract offered. Danny looks like signing.

Richard Carpenter. New contract offered. Chippy has been talkin to other clubs. He looks like leaving.

Players who are in contract.

Winstone Faerber. Winstone has left City on a free transfer. As previously reported.

Schwinke. Remains on the transfer list.

Dai Thomas. Transfer listed.

Chris Roberts. Transfer listed.

Jamie Hughes. Transfer listed.

Seamus Kelly. Transfer listed. I think Seamus has agreed a move back to Ireland.

Full time professional contracts offered to Lee Skelly and Paul Buttery from the youth team.

Pat Jennings is not on a full time contract and has not been offered one.

All other players are still under contract and will play for Cardiff City next season unless they request a move.

Apart from Paul Brayson there are no names for players on the wanted list. There is a wanted list but no names have been mentioned. Billy wants to sign Brayson but negotiations have to take place between Billy and the CCFC board, then CCFC and Reading etc etc.

So to sum up. Players leaving are Ford, Faerber, Phillips, Thomas, Roberts, Kelly, Hughes, Schwinke. Expected to go are Carpenter, Fowler, Eckhardt.
