Most player talk at the moment is the Will we wont we sign a striker? saga. Target no.1 remains to be Kurt Nogan from Preston. Kurt is currently around the 5th choice striker at Deepdale despite being their top scorer last season. Preston have refused to loan him to City and are insisting on an offer of £100,000 for puchase. Nogan is out of contract at the end of the season and could be picked up free under the Bosman ruling. The dilema facing the board is do they try to buy another striker with the money and wait for Nogan or lay out the cash now.

Its reported that Kurt's brother Lee who has been capped for Wales and is currently at Darlington may also be interested in coming home to Cardiff.

With the deadline for signing a player to play on Friday against Colchester being Thursday midday and the end of season transfer deadline a week away, things will have to happen quickly.

City are without Rob Earnshaw for 6 weeks, Kevin Nugent starts a 3 match ban after tomorrow. Then we are down to reserve team strikers and players either playing out of position or recalls from loan trips like Dai Thomas and Chris Roberts.

Former City player Lee Jarman has joined Exeter City on non contract terms. He played for them last night in a 1 - 1 draw against Bristol City.

Theres no definate news on the proposed transfer of Craig Middleton to Halifax either.
