| April Headlines |
Bottom club Chesterfield, now managerless, are acting out the final scenes of their Divison 2 performance. Its possible that they can be officially relegated tomorrow but that would require them losing at Bury, which is very likely, but also Cambridge getting a point at Cardiff and Oxford winning. The latter two outcomes we certainly do not want. Bon Vogage Chesterfield. Relegation battle no. 1 is at Blackpool tomorrow. The Tangerines entertain Scunthorpe. With both teams desperate for points it will not be a pretty game. Both have played a game more than City and are both two points behind. Neither can afford the draw but of course that would suit us down to the ground. I predict a draw. Cardiff in 21st place could climb out of the relegation zone tomorrow. Two things need to happen for that to occur. 1. City need to beat Cambridge. 2. Oxford need to not win at home to Burnley. Cardiff have a far superior goal difference to Oxford and a game in hand. For City its obvioius win the game and make a huge stride towards safety. My only prediction is a City win. Oxford face Burnley. The Clarets came to Cardiff two weeks ago and took all three points from us. They have to do the same to Oxford tomorrow. Burnley will be favourites and a win for the Lancastrians would do Cardiff no end of favours. I think Burnley will be too good for them and take away the points. I still think Wrexham Colchester and Bury are safe enough. I will stick with my prediction that Scunny, Blackpool and Oxford will join Chesterfield in Div 3. I will do a round up of the results tomorrow evening after the games. |
