The big transfer speculation has invoved Carlton Palmer. With Gordon Strachan issuing
a hands off warning that line of enquiry looks dead. There have been other names mentioned though. Andy Johnston, a Welsh international from Notts Forrest has been linked. Leon Jeanne the wayward Cardiff born Q.P.R. striker told the Football Echo he believes he is close to signing for Cardfiff City. The Wales on Sunday spalshed Rob Earnshaw over the back pages of the sports section and linked him heavily with interest from Celtic. City have told the club that Rob is not for sale. Celtic had a scout at Ninian Park when City played York last week. The Football Echo reported that there were 15 other scouts at the game. One in particular from Tranmere was keeping an eye on Mark Bonner. Bonner was rumoured to be a Tranmere target a few months ago and its obvious they are still interested. Bonner along with Jason Bowen is out of contract at the end of the season and would be a free agent unless a new deal was reached. The Football Echo also linked Danny Hill with interest from Rushden and Diamonds. |
