Magistrates have approved City's application for new bars at Ninian Park. The licence was granted despite a few objections. The new bars at the Canton End and Grange End of the Grandstand and inside a new corporate box will be permitted to open on non match days from 11am to 11pm Monday - Saturday and 12noon - 10:30pm on Sundays. On matchdays the bars can open from 11am to kick off time, close for 45mins, open again at half time, close again for the second half and then reopen for the rest of the day til 11pm (12noon - 10:30pm during Sunday matches). It is a condition of the licence that no alcohol will be served during play. The new public areas will include food areas and be named after former greats of the club. The club are trying to share in the trade that upto now is benefitting local pubs and restaurants but not the football club. The club are hoping to have the new bars up and running for the start of the season. |
