Mike Ford who was the subject of retirement speculation earlier this week is being linked with a move to Oxford Utd in a coching role. Ford received a highly successful testimonial earlier this week and was reported to have told local Oxford journalists that he was hanging up his boots. Ford is keen to move into coaching and I understand he could be offered a role at the Manor Ground. Oxford have announced that they are looking to appoint another ex-player to the coaching staff. No names mentioned but Ford could fit the bill.

Paul Brayson could become a permanent signing for Cardiff City. The young Reading striker has been on loan at Ninian Park for the last few months and has scored twice. The below report from teamtalk suggest Brayson is in talks with City to finalise a deal.

Report from Teamtalk.
Reading boss Alan Pardew believes striker Paul Brayson would be making a good career move if he were to join Cardiff. Brayson, 22, is currently on loan at Ninian Park but a permanent deal looks on the cards as the Geordie has impressed during his trial spell in Wales. The forward has barely featured in his two years at the Madejski Stadium and Pardew has revealed things are unlikely to change in the foreseeable future. Pardew said: "Something should be happening concerning Brayson. I believe Billy Ayre is talking to his chairman and we should get an answer on him soon. "There will be a fee but we'll have to see what it is. Paul needs first team football. "He's been here two years but has hardly figured and his chances will remain very limited."
