In just 48 hours the City / Carlton Palmer link has turned into a saga. News broke on
Thursday night that City were in talks with the player. On Friday Bobby Gould refused to
comment by saying he never discussed player contracts. Then on Real Radio he denied it
altogether saying that Sam had not made contact with Carlton Palmer and was not after the
player. Today's rumour is that Bobby has offered £15,000 a week to persuede the 34 year old to move to Cardiff City. Sources claim that Gould was due to put the offer to Palmer today. Palmer is a former England international and is currently a first team member at Coventry City. He is included in the squad to play Liverpool tomorrow. Palmer lives in Sheffield and is reluctant to move but he applied for the Huddersfield managers job and is keen to move into coaching / management. It has been been mentioned he will come to Cardiff in a player / coach role. |
