Andy is 23 and comes from Sydney. It appears he is turning down the chance to have a trial with Juventus in favour of staying in the UK. He is also rumoured to have turned down a move to St Etienne. I can't comment as to how accurate that information is. Andy has made 52 league starts for West Brom. A colleague of mine at West Brom states the following. "Personally, I think McD had a rough ride at West Brom. The crowd seemed to be on his back all the time, and any mistake would be met with shouts of abuse when the same mistake by others would be met with an "unlucky, son". I tried to stick up from him when I could - after all, he never went out and sat on his arse doing nothing during games - quite the opposite, in fact. His crossing is a bit erratic though, perhaps enthusiasm getting the better of him - but he scored a belter of a goal against Wolves last year and won quite a few people over as a result. He won't shirk a tackle, and he's quick - but maybe gets pulled out of position a bit easily and has a tendency to slice his forward balls when trying to play them down the line." |
