City overcame both Merthyr and the atrocious conditions at Ninian Park to recored their second victory in a row in the FAW Premier Cup. A solid strike from Andy Legg in the first half was enough to give City a 1 goal lead at half time. Leo FW had a screaming shot come back off the bar and McCulloch was unlucky to see a deflected free kick go wide.

Danny Hill slotted home the second after some great build up work. Merthyr pulled one back when the otherwise in form Mark Walton spilled a shot that Chris Summers gladly profited from.
