R.I.P. Chesterfield. The Spirites lost at home today to Wycombe and are 13 points away from safety with only 6 games to go. Sorry Chesterfield but its bye bye. I said on Friday the best they would get would be a draw, they did'nt manage that.

Scunthorpe dropped a place today. I thouight the Iron would pick up a point at home to Luton but they were beaten 2 - 1 which was a fantastic result for Cardiff.

Blackpool climbed a place after a 1 - 1 draw at Colchester. I thought the U's would be too strong for Pool but like us they are fighting for survival and the point the gained has enabvled them to climb above Scunny.

Cardiff had the result of the day anmongst the strugglers. The point has put us 2 points ahead of Scunny and Blackpool with a game in hand on each.

Oxford. The team in our sights. Oxford are only 2 points ahead of us having played a game more. City can thank old boy Simon Haworth for scoring both of Wigans goals today as they beat Oxford at the JJB. Unbeleivably Wigan only managed to attract a crowd of 4,800 today. They have a 25,000 seater brand new stadium, a team who are second in the table and obviously no fans. Some of these teams dont deserve to be where they are.

Cambridge our opponents next week held promotion chasing Bristol Rovers at the Abbey. Cambridge went ahead early on but Rovers did Cardiff a favour by forcing the draw.

I stand by what I said the other day. I reckon 47 points will see off Blackpool and Scunthorpe who I predict will go down with Chesterfield. That leaves Oxford and Cambridge. I reckoned one of them would have to flop to ensure City's safety. It could be either. With City playing Cambridge next Saturday it may be come a bit clearer. I think we should wishing the worst on Oxford.
