City will rest the 11 players, who all completed the 90 minutes against Brentford on Saturday, for the match at Newport tonight. It now appears that the lineup from Saturday, Walton, Thompson, Young, Greene, Brazier, Bowen, Boland, Fowler, Low, Nugent, Brayson. Will be the starting line up against Exeter this comong Saturday. The only doubut will be over Thompson. He must be registered to be able to play. He is continuing talks with Billy Ayre. If he does not sign then Mark Bonner could be a replacement right back. Bonner is in the squad for tonights game and may take part if he is declared fit. Andy Legg is in tonights squad and he may play a part. He is suspended for the Exeter game anyway. Kurt Nogan and Rob Earnshaw are expected to lead the attack tonight, Jon Hallworth will be in goal and Jeff Eckhardt in defence. The other senior players not mentioned, Danny Hill and Russell Perrett are still both injured. First year professionals Paul Buttery and Lee Skelly are both in tonights squad. So there will be a mix of first, reserve and youth team players at Newport. Tomorrow's game at Haverfordwest will be a youth XI led by coach Colin Pascoe. Squad v Newport. Hallworth, Buttery, Eckhardt, Jones, Skelly, Giles, Heall, Legg, Bonner, Nogan, Earnshaw, Lewis, Jones, Collins, Wallis, Hajgato, Morley, Busby. Newport County will have Carl Dale in attack. The former City favourite scored for Newport in a 1 - 1 draw at Aberystwyth on the weekend. Also former City player Pat Mountain is in goal for County. |
