Sam Hammam has revealed how his close friend, Alex Ferguson, told him he was mad to
pump his millions into Cardiff City.

myself are very close pals, we often confide in each other.
"He told me I was mad buying Cardiff and has given me the address of a good
psychiatrist!
"Alex couldn't understand why I favoured Cardiff over much bigger set-ups."
Following his miracle-like job at Wimbledon, Hammam has revealed his reason's for snubbing
the chance to be involved in other, bigger clubs. He said: "What attracted me to them
was their underdog status. I've been a fighter all my life, I fought for 23 years at
Wimbledon, now I want to prove the sceptics wrong again."
The former Don's supremo is close to securing the deal for the Ninian Park outfit and will
spend £3.14 million to secure an 83% share in the club.
