Reports from Sweden suggest that City would appear to have taken 31 year old Jonas Wirmola on trial from Swedish club Malmo FF. My Sewdish is not too good but the following was posted on the Malmo FF official website.

Från och med idag och fram till den 18 november kommer Jonas Wirmola att befinna sig i Cardiff för träning. Tränare för klubben från Wales är Wirmolas före detta spelarkollega från tiden i Sheffield Alan Cork.

That translated reads.From today onwards until the 18th November Jonas Wirmola finds himself in Cardiff for training. The coach of the Welsh club is Wirmola's ex colleague from his time in Sheffield, Alan Cork.

Sources from Sweden say he played for Sheff Utd around 1994 and the above would suggest he knows Alan Cork from there.

Wirmola has played only 5 games this season for Malmo but I understand he has spent time in Norway on loan. In his time with Sheff Utd he played in the Premiership. Wirmola is reported to be an aggressive defender who is strong in the air.
