Fireworks at Ninian Park as Jason Bowen, in sparkling form, opens the floodgates on York City. Cardiff Ouzed class and the Grand Old Dukes found that when they were down they were down. Cardiff are now more than half way up.

OK with bonfire night, nursery rhymes and the flood problems in York its easy enough to run up a dodgy headline. First all best wishes the 70 odd York fans who had to travel back to hellish condition in York with the floods after seeing their team hammered at Ninian Park today.

Jason Bowen had won the game as early as the 6th minute. After just 100 seconds Bowen latched onto a Earnshaw pass and Jason made no mistake to put City 1 up. In a copycat move 4 mins later Mark Bonner put Bowen in again and like the first time Jason made no mistake and it was 2 - 0.

Bowen missed another chance for his hattrick after it seemed harder for Earnshaw to miss than score the ball was blocked and it fell to Bowen who fired against the post.

City did get their third before half time when Earnie spun some magic and saw his cross turned in from close range by Scott Young.

The second half was more of a stroll and York while never looking like scoring were able to get more of the play. Earnie, after skying a couple of shots, got his reward with a cracking goal to finish on 90 mins. The stats again show the dominance, City had 19 attempts at goal compared to York's 7.

Jason Bowen was voted man of the match but the unsung hero was Mark Bonner who commanded the centre of the park. Earnie is so exciting to watch, he took two shots today when it was easier to pass to a better placed teammate and it looked like he had clogs on. The ball threatened the people at the back of the Canton Stand, but his tenacity and never say die keeps you on the edge of your seat and his finish on 90 mins was world class. As was his somersault to celebrate. He also just missed a spectacular overhead kick as well.

City have now gone 5 league games unbeaten since Alan Cork took charge. Three of those have been at Ninian Park where we have won all of them, scored 8 goals without reply. It was that sort of home form that earned us promotion two years ago. The two away games have both ended in 2 - 2 draws. So 12 goals in the last 5 games and 11 points from the 15 available.

Excellent work all round. I hope that the Shrewsbury game does go ahead next week as we are on a roll and with the next league game after that not until Nov 21st we need to keep playing. With the good run at Ninian Park now established its good to see that we have two home league games in a row after the home FA Cup game with Bristol Rovers. Tickets were selling well for that game today and the crowds will increase as the results keep going our way.
