The boys on the bus today were Hallworth, Feuer, Legg, Ford, Perrett, Young, Phillips, Brazier, Fowler, Hill, Carpenter, Bonner, Low, Schwinkendorf, Bowen, Humpheys and Nugent. Willie Boland and Winston Faerber were dropped and therefore left behind. Jeff Eckhardt stays in Cardiff with a slight back injury. The other six, Kelly, Middleton, Roberts, Earnshaw, Hughes and Thomas are all out on loan. Billy has suggested a change of formation, move away from the wingback formation preferred by Frank Burrows. Early reports sugest the following possible line up. A 4 - 5 - 1 with Feuer in goal, Hallworth was at fault for the first goal last Sunday and has come in for critisism for his failure to command his area. Feuer may get his chance. A back four of Young, Perret, Ford and Legg with a midfield selected from Carpenter, Bonner, Fowler, Brazier, Low, Hill and Schwinke. Early reports say that Brazier and Fowler are in line to return to the starting line up. Should Billy play a lone striker then Humphreys may well be first choice. All speculation for the moment but if I get the starting line up I'll let you know. Obviously we need to win. Defeat to our relegation rivals is unthinkable but probably believeable. Billy will be looking to impress. The players owe it to him to perform better then the surrender against Luton last week. Scunthorpe have managed to do what Cardiff have
failed to do in 12 months. They have put their hands in their pockets this week and signed
up a couple of strikers. The Iron have paid Bristol City £200,000 for ex Swansea player
Steve Torpey and they've picked up Brian Quailey on a free from West Brom. Both are
expected to play tomorrow. Scunthorpe also include Manny Omoyinmi, the player on loan from
West Ham. He was the man who came on as a sub for West Ham in the Worthy Cup after being
cup tied earlier in the competition. |
