City will run out a strong team tonight for the visist of Cwmbran in the first match of this seasons FAW Premier Cup. All bar Russell Perrett who is returning from injury and summer signing Tony Sheridan have played in the first team this season. City will be wearing another new kit. This seasons FAW kit has been sponsored by Lojics Services. It is a blue shirt with white "v" neck trim, white shorts and blue and white socks. City have been beaten finalists of this competition twice in the last three years and beaten semi finalists the other time. All the defeats were inflicted by Wrexham. With a lot of money on offer it is an important tournament and the club will be looking to do well again. The line up for tonight is Halworth, Low, Greene, Perrett, McCulloch, Bowen, Sheridan, Bonner, Legg, Brayson and Nogan. Subs to be named later. For Nogan these sort of oportunities could be make or break. He is on the transfer list and is not able to get a place on the bench for the league games so its vital for his future for him to perform tonight. Scott McCulluch is another player who will be trying hard to get back into the league team. He has been on the bench for the past few games. Russell Perrett will hope to come through his first game of the season because he will be Dave Greene's replacement when Greene has to sit out his ban for being sent off last weekend. He could be out for upto 3 games. All the players on show tonight could be called into the full first team such is the strength of the squad at the moment. Not forgetting our opponents Cwmbran Town. The Crows come to Ninian Park on the back of a 3 - 0 win over Barry Town. Cwmbran are in good form and it will be no pushover. |
