I was away for a few days last week and was not able to keep up with the latest news. There was some player movements while I was away with two new arrivals and talk of two departures.

Firstly players reported to be leaving. Both Tony Sheridan and Lee Skelly its claimed have had their contracts terminated.

Arriving at Ninian Park are Wayne Evans. A 20 year old midfielder from Man Utd. Wayne is on trial with a view to a permanent move. Wayne is a Welsh youth team player and fits into the young Celtic player category that CCFC are aiming to attract for the future of Cardiff City.

The second player is 19 year old central defender Matt Grey from Spurs. Grey has joined on a non contract basis for the rest of the season. He made his full debut in the 2 - 1 FAW win over Llanelli last week.

City are also reported to have taken Mark Convery, a 19 year old midfielder, on trial this week from Sunderland.

Also Alan Cork was award the Manager of the Month award for November after a 100% winning record. Congratulations to Alan. Its fully deserved. Sam Hammam celebrated the win by sabotaging Corky's car,he let the tires down and doused it in all sorts of material including trees and earth. Alan was also soaked in a training ground attack involving several buckets of water.

Great times at Ninian Park, the arrival of Evans and Grey mean we have now attracted youngsters from Man Utd and Spurs as well as Arsenal's Rhys Weston and Leeds' Kevin Evans. The future is bright, the future is Blue.

Report from TotalWales on Corks award.
ALAN CORK won't forget the day he was named Third Division manager of the month in a hurry. Sam Hammam made sure of that.

Cardiff City's owner, a notorious practical joker, arranged for Cork to be given a drenching after yesterday's training session at Llanrumney.

Players held the struggling chief coach as he was doused by buckets of water. Then manager Bobby Gould turned a fire hose on him.

After a shower and a change into dry clothes, the 41-year-old Cork emerged from the changing rooms to discover his new X-reg Audi had been trashed.

A traffic cone was on the roof which was covered by branches and other debris. One of the car's rear tyres had been let down.

"Sam loves his little tricks and his water games," said Cork, taking it all in good humour.

"Having been with him at Wimbledon I knew what to expect.

"As soon as he went missing from the training ground I knew there was something up but didn't know what it could be.

"Since I joined the club I've always said I want the players to be enthusiastic.

"You have to enjoy your work and they seem to be doing that at the minute.

"The lads have had a laugh and a joke at my expense. It's all good fun.

"But my time will come. Christmas is coming and I've got a special surprise lined up for Sam."

Successive home league wins against York City, Lincoln City and Hartlepool United earned Cork the Third Division champagne for November - his first manager of the month award.

"All credit to the players. It's been a good month, an exciting period for the club. We came out of it well and got our due rewards," he added.

"People say winning manager of the month can be a jinx. It might prove to be for me.

"But I haven't got it yet so I don't really know. Hopefully we can
keep on winning but our next match at Torquay is not going to be easy.

"Torquay are a good side going forward. If we are to keep a clean sheet we have to stop giving away sloppy goals.

"That's what worries me, not the fact it's the first match since I
was named manager of the month.

"It's nice to have a noon kick-off for a change. The players won't have as long to think about the game.

"We'll stay in Devon overnight, have breakfast together on Saturday and then get on with the game. The lads can't wait."
