Cardiff City have taken promising youngster Nathan Davies on a months trial. The teenager joins from Newport County and is tipped as a future star. He has already been offered a contract at Chelsea but felt he would be too far down the pecking order. More details as they become available. Ex City skipper Mike Ford is set to take over as caretaker manager of struggling Oxford Utd. Dennis Smith resigned as manager today and Ford is expected to step in until a full time manager is appointed. Ford played for Oxford last Saturday in the 1 - 0 defeat by Bristol City. CCFC Net are reporting tonight that City will field a strong team against Cwmbran in the FAW Premier Cup at Ninian Park on Tuesday. ko 7:45pm. The line up will be Hallworth, McCulloch, Perrett, Bowen, Low, Greene, Legg, Sheridan, Bonner, Brayson and Nogan. It will be Russell Perrett's first game of the season after returning from injury and it will be a debut for Tony Sheridan. For players like Hallworth, Brayson, McCulloch and Nogan it will be a chance to shine and get back into the reckoning for the first team. |
