So thats it. Its all over. Relegation.

After taking a 2nd minute lead through Jason Bowen City filled the worldwide Bluebirds support with hope. 2 minutes later Kevin Nugent blasted over when it seemed easier to score and it went downhill fast after that.

Asaba equalised after a poor Andy Legg backpass on 11 mins. Andy Legg was harshly sent off after 26 mins, so making the game a disaster for him personally. He tussled with Asaba as the Gills forward tried to get through on goal, a professional foul was the referee's view so Legg had to go as Asaba would have been through on goal. Gillingham scored from the resulting free kick and then Asaba scored his second 9 minutes later.

3 - 1 down at half time but City has a good penalty shout turn ed down early in the second half but any libgering hopes of a fightback were killed off when Asaba grabbed his hattrick on 59 mins.

So City are relegated. The early season promise has turned to dust.

City must start building for next season immediately. Many things must change. Off the field the board must take control and make some some big decisions and soon. We must be better prepared next season and aim to bouce back and take take Div 3 by storm.
