As more news emerges regarding Frank Burrows' departure it seems the former boss knew his time had come. Frank spoke to Chairman Steve Borley after the Luton game on Sunday and the writing was on the wall. Frank himself said that a change of face might be what the club needs to progress. Frank is an honest man and must have debated this moment with himself for a long time. The decision was two way and was thought to be the best solution for the football club.

A second emergency board meeting yesterday evening finalised the details. Frank flew out of the country last night and is beleived to be in France taking a short holiday.

Report from Sky Sports.
Second Division Cardiff City have parted company with manager Frank Burrows following a string of bad results which have left the club hovering above the relegation zone.

Burrows held talks with chairman Steve Borley after the 3-1 home loss to Luton on Sunday. That defeat was their sixth in the last 10 league games, of which they have won only one.

Borley, speaking exclusively to Sky Sports News explained that the decision was taken by both parties: "We discussed various options, but at the end of the day we thought this was the best solution."

"It wasn't so much a one way decision, Frank thought a change of face might lift the side, he's an honest man."

Last week the Football League approved a £2.5 million takeover of the club, by a consortium led by businessman Clive Sullivan. Borley insisted however that the takeover had nothing to do with Burrows' departure.

"Football is a results business. We need to get back to the comfort zone and plan for the future and hopefully the new investment will help to do that," said Borley.
