Due to the wonders of technology and the internet, there have been emails and
messages posted within hours of the news breaking. I have put together some of the
sentiments written by the fans who follow the fortunes of the club through this website as
well as on the terraces.

Firstly i'd like to say that although I have felt Frank should go for some
time now ( as Cardiff city football club have to come first), now that it has happened it
is very sad.
Thank you for the fantastic job you did in getting us up last season, but you have done
the honourable thing. We can now remember you only in a positive way. Hopefully you will
stay at he club in some capacity, but if not then come and sit on the Bob bank with us
sometimes!!
Good luck with whatever you decide to do next - you are a truly decent man.
Farnborough / Ely Blue.
Thanks Frank for everything you've done. I am so gutted this morning but I
guess whats been done is for the good of Cardiff City FC. Its now time to get behind the
team for the rest of the season.

Just a quick note of thanks to Frank Burrows, he has done an excellent job
at the blue birds, it takes a great man to do what he has done, he has now stepped aside
to allow the club to progress. Thank you Frank.
Midlands Bluebird
I'm very sorry that Frank has gone, but it was something that was
inevitable, in my opinion. Cardiff City have had a really bad run of results (the worst in
the Second Division) and something had to happen. Finally, a message
to Frankie - I've got nothing against you personally and enjoy life! All the best
guv'nor!

I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO FRANK BURROWS AND GOOD LUCK-YOU HAVE BEEN GOOD FOR
CCFC. HOWEVER I BELEIVE IT IS THE RIGHT TIME FOR HIM TO GO AS WE ARE NOT EVEN STANDING
STILL AT THE MOMENT.THE DECLINE HAS TO BE ARRESTED AND FRANK DOESN'T LOOK LIKE DOING IT,IN
FACT I BELEIVE HE HAS BEEN TOO KIND TO SOME PLAYERS AND HAS MADE SOME IRRATIONAL
SELECTIONS AND SUBSTITUTIONS RECENTLY.
ONCE AGAIN THANKS FRANK AND LETS HOPE YOU AND THE BLUEBIRDS GO FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH
EVEN IF IT ISN'T IN THE TOGETHER AS A LOT OF US WOULD HAVE HOPED FOR.

Dear Frank,
By your actions last night you showed the character of a man of honour & integrity.
You provided the basis for the current giant strides being made off field and gave us all
renewed faith in the potential of a great club. Your achievement in gaining promotion for
us last year was outstanding.
I'm sorry things didn't work out this season, I hope the board talk to you about staying
on/coming back in some capacity, we need men of your calibre.
Very best wishes to you and you family, and good luck.
Yours faithfully,
Julian Wing

Now that it's actually happened, my overriding feeling is one of sympathy as news
has reached me of Frankies resignation. Next to Jimmy Schoular, he will always be held in
the highest of esteems as far as I'm concerned.
That said, as a fan who travels home and away watching my beloved team, our performances
of late have been woeful and in essence I feel he has done the honourable thing. And
whatever your feelings towards the bloke he is nothing but honourable.

I loved Frank and for that reason it was important that he went before people
started to resent him and forget how much good he's done this club. Once again Steve
Borley has timed it perfectly - he was right to give Frank a longer chance than many would
have been given, and right not to let it drag out. A couple of games more might have been
better, but from looking at Frank's demeanour on Sunday I think he felt the time had come.
I honestly don't think they'd have won another game this season with him at the helm, not
least as teams have started coming to Ninian thinking that they've got every chance of
taking all 3 points.
I must say I'm impressed that the club is so ambitious that it's prepared to buy out a
contract like this - an extremely good sign of things to come. I'm surprised and pleased.
Good luck to Frank indeed. However, let it not be forgotten that the club and fans too
deserve credit for their historic relationship with him - it wasn't all one way.

Ive supported City for 32 of my 38 years and this morning I am totally gutted.
frank Burrows has done a wonderful job for City in his tenure as manager and as soon as
things start getting ropey Out he goes and you lot on here havent helped. Lets get a new
man in yes the players will perform now, they have to cos if they dont more upheavel and
another period of instability. And there lies the problem, on paper all the signings Frank
made this year seemed good cast your mind back to the start of the season, I for one didnt
rate Brazier that highly but it was greeted as the fans signing. With the exception of a
few it is the players who have let city down, do they have a passion for cardiff City, it
is a shame that the players cannot be sacked on the spot for their lack of commitment.
Frankie loved Cardiff and it showed, can the same be said for the team. Loyalty seems in
short supply and I regret to say that this morning my loyalty to my only team, my home
team and the only team I have ever supported has been severely injured to a degree where I
cant see me visiting Ninian for a while.

All the best FB. Its a shame we parted company on a low but you still have the
respect of a lot of people for that wonderful spell we enjoyed.
Its strange that there was no real backlash at the Luton match. I was half expecting a
real "Frankie out" protest. Glad it didnt happen like that though.
Cheers again.
Onwards & Upwards.
Bluelove.
Although I believe it was time to replace Burrows it has to be said that Frank did
a great job for us on the whole in two spells. There's no doubt he was utterly committed
to the club. Good luck in your future endeavours and thanks for your efforts here. Cheers.

I love you now and will forever.
I will miss you badly but I'm also relieved that you have finally done what is right and
in the best interests of the club and the supporters. In my mind, I am sorry to say it but
I thought tonight was inevitable and long overdue. It should have happened 2 or 3 months
ago and Cardiff City should never have allowed things to deteriorate to the desparate
position we now find ourselves in.
But that's not for now. I want to thank for for all that you have achieved at Cardiff
City. You were my hero in the '80's and you're my hero again for picking this club off its
sick bed and getting us forward looking again. Without your efforts and our promotion, the
new investors wouldn't have looked at us and the supporters wouldn't have been here.
Thank You, Goodbye and I wish a good luck, good health and happiness in the future.

Frank I will not get all soppy and tearful. I have jojned the Frankie out brigade
over the last few weeks. I've written it on the website and I said it on the radio the
other day. I wont change my mind on that either. Things were not working. A few months ago
a change of tactics or a signing may have helped change the situation. It did not come.
Then the attention turns on the manager. I'm sorry but it went on too long with no results
to show a possible improvement. Thats whay I wanted a new manager. Nothing personal.
I must though say Thank You. Thanks for making last season uptil end Jan an exhilarating
and breathtaking experience. The football at Ninian park was incredible, opposing teams
were blown away. You won us promotion and its a shame it could not be finished.
I hope all goes well for you and again I'm sorry it had to end like this.
Now its back to the sharp end. We are in relegation torouble, we are without a manager.
Now more than ever the team needs our support. I hope the players get the message now. No
one is safe, if you do not perform then you are out.
It needs 110% from all. fans, players, directors all.
Thanks Frank, but please forgive us as we have to look forward.
Wyn Roberts
Good luck Frank. You were the best manager Cardiff City had in a quarter of a
century. There can be no dispute about that- the facts speak for themselves. In the end
,other people let the club down and ,as is the way of things ,you had to go. I wish you
every success in the future.
Mike Roderick
What a sad (but inevitable) day. I feel like a relative has died. Frankie's the
only manager I felt any affection for since Jimmy Scoular and like Scoular he has done an
awful lot for the club.
Thanks and best wishes to Frankie. Please, not Jackson.

Sorry to see you go Frank, always a Bluebird. Its a pity you didn't have the new
money to play with earlier in the season.

So Frankie has gone I for one is dissapointed & angry, not even a vote of
confidence, those with short memories here was a man who hauled this club from the jaws of
the conference to promotion within 12 months, installed back some pride in the shirt &
commitment from the players.Hailed a hero one minute then a villan the next-we have been a
club which has spent the last 15 years in the lower two divisions, had almost as many
managers. During this period Burrows in his 2 spells has been head & shoulders above
the other managers,he never bullshited the supporters worked hard twice in turning this
club around. The club needed stability, not take the easy option & replace the
manager,no doubt the consortium have forced Borley's hand.Peter Jackson may be his
replacement & good luck to him,I hope he or whoever the new man is will build on the
foundations that Frank has left-he will have more money than anyother manager in the
history of the club,he will be judged on results, playersetc,I only hope he has good
understanding of the expectations of the supporters otherwise he could be in for a rocky
ride like Hibbitt & Osman.Thank you Frank for all the work you put in you will be
sadly missed, Borley & the Board you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Vikki Harrington
I heared on radio one this morning that frankie has left. It is a shame that he has
gone, none of us will forget what he has done for the club. But there is no room for
sentimentality infootball, managers have left clubs for less. At the end of the day he was
not doing the buisness. Lets get somebody in who can do it and get this club into a better
league position like it should be!! |
